Home – GenerationNext: Thought Leaders

GenerationNext are The Future Thought Leaders.

Together, let’s embolden and amplify diverse voices of Black college students and activate their civic engagement.

About The Summit

In the form of a three-day gathering, students gather to discourse on key areas of national interest and activate their civic engagement.

A one of its kind, students are the panelists and key stakeholders such as elected officials and civic organization leaders are the primary audience.

If you identify as a Black college student under the age of 24, enrolled at a U.S. college or university, and passionate about civic impact, this summit is for you.

Panels

Moderated by professional subject matter experts, four student panels will tackle crowd-sourced national issues that shape their perspectives. Experience GenNext 2026 as a Panelist.

Pitch Competition

The Social Impact Pitch invites passionate change-makers to present innovative solutions to critical community challenges, competing for one of three grants. Experience GenNext 2026 as a Pitch Competitor.

Fireside Chat

Democrat, Republican, Independent—GenNext aren’t bound by these political boxes. In this engaging fireside chat, elected officials explore civic engagement beyond the vote through a thought-provoking moderated discussion.

Media engagement

Black students often find their voices and perspectives underrepresented in the media. By inviting media coverage to interview panelists and student attendees, the GenerationNext Thought Leaders Summit seeks to change that narrative.

You want your presence felt at this summit.

For Students

GenerationNext: Thought Leaders is that space for Black students to share all sides of their perspectives on policies that shape their votes without seeking agreement, but understanding of difference and demanding of progress. Be Present.

For Stakeholders

Access to policymakers is crucial and shouldn’t be dictated solely on their terms. Policy makers and influencers who recognize that their accessibility empowers students to create positive change must take the initiative to show up.

For Media

Diversity of young Black voices in national political discourse is generally absent, but needed. Media are invited and welcome to not only report on the summit, but to share the voices of these students nationally and accurately.
